If you are a Charlotte, NC area resident interested in helping individuals seeking recovery from a variety of addictions, there is now FREE training available. SMART Recovery, a practical, science-based approach to self-empowered recovery is currently offering no cost meeting facilitation training that provides what you need to get started helping others.
At SMART, we believe that we have the power within ourselves to change our behavior and can do so by implementing a structured 4-Point program of cognitive-behavioral tools and making supportive connections with others who are also working to change by participation in our peer-to peer support groups.
This would not be possible without our meeting facilitators, who are the backbone of SMART. Facilitators become part of a network of individuals who are providing resources, information, and support to those struggling with substances or negative behaviors.
In 2023, SMART Recovery was awarded a grant to assist our work in assisting those struggling with addiction / addictive behaviors. The grant will cover all the associated costs with facilitating a meeting including training, space rental and stipends!
To be eligible for this training, you MUST prove residency in the Charlotte / Mecklenburg NC area OR provide documentation that shows that your organization primarily serves Charlotte residents. It is an intensive 3-day live zoom training. Once completed, you will be able to facilitate both 4-Point and Family & Friends meetings!
