The keynote speakers are two of the nation’s leading experts in the causes and best practices in the treatment of substance use disorders:
Dr. John F. Kelly, Ph.D. is the Elizabeth R. Spallin Associate Professor of Psychiatry in Addiction Medicine at Harvard Medical School; and
Dr. Billina Shaw, MD, FAPA, is Medical Director of Mental Health Services of the Prince George’s County, Maryland, Health Department.
Additional speakers will focus on which of the many SMART Recovery Tools work best for addressing all aspects of life challenges.
Breakout sessions, including one expressly for the professional community, conclude the conference.
The SMART Recovery Regional Conference: Tools to Achieve a Balanced Life is open to everyone interested in SMART Recovery, including SMART Recovery meeting attendees, facilitators and volunteers – and all addiction treatment professionals.
This is an opportunity for professionals to learn how to integrate the tools of SMART Recovery into their practices – and 5 Level B / Level Two CEUs will be provided to professionals (along with a SMART Recovery Handbook) who register and attend.
