Presenter: Dr. Michael Edelstein
This will be a one-hour session in the SMART Room at SMART Online and Dr. Edelstein will focus a large portion of the time on Q&A.

Dr. Michael R. Edelstein is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years’ experience and has a private practice in San Francisco, offering in-person as well as telephone sessions, and he is a SMART Recovery Professional Advisor. He is the author of Three Minute Therapy: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life , a self-help book for overcoming common emotional and behavioral problems.
Dr. Edelstein was awarded Author of the Year for this book, and Dr. Albert Ellis personally endorsed it as follows: “Of all the books that explain [Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy] in simple, clear, and highly usable form, Three Minute Therapy is one of the very best. The author includes the main theories and practices and specifically tells you how to apply them to your own problems.”
Dr. Edelstein is a Training Supervisor and Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute. He holds a diplomate in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy from, and is on the Board of Advisors of, the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists. He is Past President of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy. In addition, Dr. Edelstein lectures nationally and internationally, has appeared on television as well as over 300 radio shows, trains professionals, and has published in psychological journals. He is the creator of a five-step audio weight-management program, and has produced recordings used for training psychotherapists. He writes the advice column, “Ask Dr. Mike,” which appears in the San Francisco Intelligencer. Dr. Edelstein’s website, Three Minute Therapy, has rich resources and includes a full page of links to some of his past presentations.
